Serving together for the glory of the Lord

Senior Pastor
Pastor Daniel Cox brings over twenty-five years of ministry experience, a deep love for the gospel, and a passion for mentoring the next generation. In 2002, he earned his degree in Pastoral Theology from Crown College, completed his Master of Divinity from Crown College in 2022, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in ministry from the Luther Rice Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia.
Throughout his ministry, Pastor Cox has faithfully served in local church ministries, pastoring congregations in both Tennessee and Florida. In 2013, he and his wife, Marie, established a church and Christian school in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. His ministry has taken him around the world, where he has preached and sung the gospel of Jesus Christ to diverse audiences and cultures.
Daniel is also an accomplished musician, having recorded four solo albums, and a gifted writer, contributing extensively to Christian periodicals. He is passionate about teaching and mentoring college-age adults, helping them grow in their faith and navigate life with biblical wisdom.
In his free time, Daniel enjoys traveling, coffee dates with Marie, spending time with his family, golfing, fishing, and relaxing on the beautiful shores of Englewood.
In 2025, Daniel joined Calvary Baptist Church, bringing with him a heart for service, a commitment to biblical preaching and teaching, and a desire to lead the church in faithful discipleship and gospel-centered outreach.

Assistant Pastor
Ethan Green is from Knoxville, Tennessee. He was raised in a Christian home and grew up as a pastor’s kid. He accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of five while in children’s church. At the age of ten, Ethan surrendered his life to the Lord and accepted the call to preach while attending Indian Creek Baptist Camp.
After graduating high school, Ethan attended The Crown College in Powell, Tennessee, where he earned a degree in Youth Ministry in May of 2019. Prior to joining Calvary Baptist in January 2021 as an assistant pastor, he served on staff at a church in Florida for a couple of years.
Ethan married his wife, Mitzi, in November of 2021. She has been a tremendous blessing and partner in ministry. God has also blessed their home with a son, Maverick, born in May of 2023.
Ethan has a heart for the next generation and loves working with and serving young people in the local church. His desire is to encourage them to live for Christ and to grow in their faith.
In his spare time, Ethan enjoys spending time with his family and cheering for the Tennessee Volunteers and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Director of Care and Counseling
Marie Cox is a passionate educator and licensed marriage and family therapist with a heart for encouraging others through faith, family, and connection. She earned her B.S. in Secondary Education from Crown College in 2003 and later pursued her calling in counseling, completing a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2019.
While faithfully serving here at Calvary, Marie also speaks regularly at marriage and women’s conferences, sharing insight and encouragement drawn from both her professional training and her personal journey. She and her husband are proud parents of four children—Phebe, Ethan, Selah, and Moriah—who are of high school and college age.
Born and raised on the Gulf Coast of Florida, Marie still treasures quiet days at the beach, good coffee, meaningful travel, and time spent with her family. Whether at home or on the road, her mission remains the same: to nurture healthy relationships and bring hope to others through the comfort of God.
