John Boutchia
John Matthew Boutchia III became senior pastor of Calvary Baptist in April of 2016. He grew up in a Christian home since the age of 4, attended a Christian high school in Dublin, NH, but was not saved until late in his junior year. After graduation from high school, he attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. In 1993, Pastor John received a bachelor’s degree in Bible from the university and embarked on the ministry.
In November of that same year, he married Darla Renee (McGhee) and they settled in Fort Myers, FL. For over 20 years, he served as an associate pastor and principal. In May 2015, he received a master’s degree from West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, CA.
Pastor John and Darla have 3 children: John (1996), James (1998) and Julianne (2002). He enjoys reading, history, sports and family. His passion in the ministry is evangelism, discipleship and preaching. His life verse is Isaiah 26:3, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”Pastor John is the author of the First Steps Bible Study Curriculum and the book, First Steps: A Guide for the Local Church in Discipling New and Young Believers.
